ChelPipe Group Invested 60 Million Rubles in the Production of Cold-Deformed Pipes
As part of the tubular division facility modernization program, ChelPipe Group commissioned a hydraulic press for the testing of cold-deformed pipes at Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ, part of ChelPipe Group). 60 million Rubles were invested in the project.
The equipment is designed for the leakage tests of pipes with a diameter from 20 to 60 mm and a wall thickness from 2 to 13 mm. The press will allow performing hydraulic tests under increased pressures. The whole process is automated. Hydraulic tests of pipes are an essential requirement of the majority of foreign customers.
“The launch of a hydraulic press at PNTZ will contribute to the expansion of the portfolio of the company’s foreign orders. The implementation of this investment project will enable us to significantly increase our export deliveries of cold-deformed pipes”, comments Denis Prikhodko, Technical Director of ChelPipe Group.
Following the results of 9 months of 2017, ChelPipe Group’s share in the shipments of cold-deformed pipes to the Russian market has been 55.3%. The export shipments have increased by 175% over this period.
