ChelPipe Group Set Going the Production of New Long-Length Stainless Pipes
ChelPipe Group mastered a new schedule of long-length pipes from stainless chrome nickel steel with a diameter of 20 mm, a wall thickness of 2 mm and a length of 18-20.3 meters. The production is mastered at Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ, part of ChelPipe Group). The first batch of pipes with a total length of 24 thousand meters was delivered to the customer.
It was possible to master a new type of products owing to the modernization of PNTZ’s pipe-drawing production, during which a high-tech cool rolling mill ХПТ 10-45 and a pipe finishing line were commissioned at the enterprise in 2016. The total amount of investments in the modernization will be approximately 200 million Rubles.
– ChelPipe Group constantly carries out research and development works on the development of new types of products, improving the existing pipe production technologies. Several dozen types of products, which are in demand in the market, have been mastered at the steel pipe production facilities in 2017, notes Kirill Nikitin, Technical Director of ChelPipe Group.
Long-length stainless pipes are principally used for the production of heat-exchange equipment in petrochemical machine engineering. The products are delivered by special long-length automobile transport.
Following the results of 9 months of 2017, ChelPipe Group’s share in the shipments of cold-deformed pipes to the Russian market has been approximately 40%.
